After 5 Years of Homelessness, This Man Finally Bought His Own Home
Mario Martinez has been selling a non-profit paper on homelessness for five years and finally has a house to call his own.
Martinez has diligently stood on the corners of Nashville streets and sold his non-profit paper for over five years. As WJHL reported, he saved almost every cent and finally was able to produce a down payment for a house.
Six years ago, Martinez was laid off and had to foreclose on his home. He was living in a trailer near an abandoned barn that had no water or heat. Now, after his hard work and with the help of his real estate agent, Brian Kemp, he will be moving into a “2,500 square foot home on three acres in Charlotte, Tennessee.”
When asked about his family, Martinez had this to say, “So we fell on hard times, but now those hard times are over. The [dogs] and I, we’re gonna have a home. I’m so excited. I worked hard for this.”
Congratulations, Mario, you deserve all of this and more!
