Dallas Cowboys alum Troy Aikman is opening a restaurant and bar in the city’s entertainment district, next to the site for the new Texas Rangers ballpark, and Dallas (not to mention Aikman’s Fox NFL followers) couldn’t be happier. “Troy’s,” as it’s going to be named, will have a selection of healthy options together with great American pairings such as burgers and beers, not to mention some awesome musical acts. You’ll want to check out the live lineup being promised on the indoor-outdoor stage seven days a week!
A press release from the Texas Rangers states that Troy’s (a 10,000-square-foot facility) “…will flow from a refined rustic interior inspired from some of the best beer halls in Texas and the country to an expansive, lush outdoor patio space centered around a beautiful Live Oak tree.” Troy Aikman follows in the footsteps of those before him from the NFL who have tried their hand in the restaurant business, including successful projects by Dan Marino, Brett Favre, John Elway, and Joe Theismann. As far as establishments in Texas go, Drew Brees is the co-owner of Walk-On’s (a Cajun restaurant), which is anticipated to open a location later this year in Irving.
