Those who have followed them for years and continue to love their music will be excited to hear that Alabama is celebrating their 50th year of making music with an anniversary tour in 2019! This 27-date tour will start in Detroit, Michigan on January 10, and will make its way to Texas on Valentine’s Day when they play the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo!

From their modest beginnings back in 1969 to the chart-topping, stadium-filling music they’ve made through the years, this band has weathered the industry like the champs they are. And the fans just keep coming. “We never thought,” Randy Owen told nashcountry.com, “playing for tips at The Bowery in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, that 50 years later we would still be playing arenas, stadiums and festivals. Teddy, Jeff and I are humbled at the amount of fans that are coming out to see us. We are finding out that we are playing to three generations of fans who have followed us and our music from day one. The fans are the ones responsible for our continued success on the road and we love them.”

Cousins Randy, Teddy Gentry, and Jeff Cook formed the band 50 years ago, playing at a bar called The Bowery in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Since then, they’ve earned seven multi-platinum records, countless awards, and 27 number-one hits. As a country band with staying power, their success is legendary. Opening for their 50th Anniversary Tour are those with equal staying power and industry success: the Charlie Daniels Band, The Oakridge Boys, The Marshall Tucker Band, Restless Heart, and Tracy Lawrence are just a few of the acts slated to hit the stage ahead of Alabama on select dates. Those vying for tickets can visit the band’s official website, which provides the tour listings and ticket links for shows.
