Starting on June 10th, the Alamodome will instate a new bag policy that outlines exactly what kind and size of bags are allowed inside of the huge venue. On their website, they explain that the following items are approved: purses 6″ x 6″ x 6″ and under, clear bags smaller than 12″ x 6″ x 12″, 1-gallon freezer bags, and medical/diaper bags. All will be subject to a thorough search.

“I think it’s a good idea. After (the attacks on) London, I’m scared for everybody now. So I don’t think it’s going to be an inconvenience for anybody,” Alamodome visitor Elizabeth Smith told KSAT.

“We are instituting this policy to enhance public safety and to make entry more efficient and secure by limiting the size and style of bags allowed into our facility. The clear bag reduces the likelihood of faulty bag searches and continues our commitment to the Department of Homeland Security’s ‘If You See Something, Say Something’ campaign,” the general manager of the Alamodome, Nicholas Langella, said.

The Alamodome website says their new Clear Bag Policy is similar to that of the NFL Clear Bag Policy, and it will be strictly enforced. No mesh bags, clear backpacks, large purses, or even tinted plastic bags will be allowed inside.
