If you listened to the radio in the mid-90s you know Texas locals The Toadies for their big hit “Possum Kingdom.” (For a brief blast to the past, check out the 1994 music video here.) Since then, the band released six studio albums, disbanded in 2001 and got back together in 2006, and held nine installments of their headlining festival called Dia De Los Toadies. Oh, and they even worked with Martin House brewery in Fort Worth to develop several different beers in their hometown.

Now, The Toadies are gearing up to release their seventh album on September 8th called “The Lower Side of Uptown.” According to GuideLive, the “album looks to be a roaring throwback to the full-on Toadies rock sound loved by so many.” In a press release, the band says it’s “louder and heavier than the last couple of Toadies albums.”

As seen on The Toadies Facebook page, the album release will take place a week before the 10th anniversary of Dia De Los Toadies on September 16th. This year, the show will return to Possum Hollow Camp at Possum Kingdom Lake! Watch their social media for updates on who will join them on stage and when tickets go on sale.
