This Luxurious Treehouse Tells Story of 100-Year Family Legacy
This couple wanted to create a spot on their property that would engage generations to come, and this treehouse is just that.
In Mystic, Connecticut, John and Deirdre live in a home and on land that has been in the family since 1908. They wanted to leave their own mark on the land that will ensure it is sacred for generations to come, so they looked to Animal Planet’s Treehouse Masters for help crafting a dream come true.
What they created was a three-layer masterpiece that blends in seamlessly with the wilderness. From the copper roof to the driftwood staircase leading to the first layer, this treehouse is almost hidden in plain sight.
The first section of the treehouse incorporates six generations of items and memories on the wall, from Deirdre’s great-grandfather to the nieces and nephews. The best part? Her father’s ice skates hung on the wall overlooking the pond where he used to skate as a boy.
The library pays homage to a stone wall inside the couple’s home that was constructed by Deirdre’s father from stones around the property. The team incorporated that same concept into the treehouse.
As for the awesome loft space, you’ll have to watch the video below to see how colorful and cozy it looks.
