Amazon Will Show You What People Are Buying Most Today
Many people like to sneak a peek into other customers’ shopping carts. It’s natural to wonder what other people are buying and to consider, should I be checking those items out as well? Of course, Internet shopping keeps us from satisfying any shopping cart voyeurism, but Amazon.com knows that buyers like input from like-minded customers. You have probably already noticed the “Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought” section underneath each item description. But did you know that there’s another way to see which items are flying off the shelves?
The product list called “Movers and Shakers,” which Buzzfeed describes as “pretty much just fancy talk for things that are currently ~trending~,” can be found here. Amazon explains the ever-evolving list as “[identifying] the biggest gainers in sales rank compared to twenty-four hours ago. For example, if a music item has a current sales rank of 10, but was ranked 30 twenty-four hours ago, its Movers & Shakers increase would be 200%.”
The results are interesting and sometimes very unexpected. Who knew “The Chicken Chick’s Guide to Backyard Chickens: Simple Steps for Healthy, Happy Hens” by Kathy Shea Mormino would rise 446,228% in only a day? See the surprising book list here.
