Astronaut in Flight Shares Photo of Brazos River Flooding
Astronaut Terry Virts was on a T-38 flight when he snapped an incredible photo of the overflowing Brazos River.
The entire photo shows the full scope of the damage and proves once again just how powerful the force of water can be. If you weren’t sure of the pattern of the Brazos River, it’s near impossible to tell its normal path in the photograph.
NASA astronaut Terry Virts gave the photo to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office who posted it to their Facebook page.
They later posted an image of cattle drive moving over US 90-A to higher ground, which is a rare sight on the road!
The water in the flooded areas of Fort Bend County is not receding, and so officials warn residents to still stay vigilant in their travel routes and in their evacuations.
As a state, we owe an incredible debt to the First Responders and multiple rescue teams who have consistently put their lives on the line this spring to ensure that any and all dangerous situations that could be stopped, were stopped just in time.
