Austin Coffee Shop Searching Desperately For Their Cat, Brisket

Spider House, an eclectic coffee shop, bar, and venue in Austin near the University of Texas campus, adopted Brisket the cat six years ago. Brisket, who’s called Snowball by some patrons, began hanging out at Spider House and Ruby’s BBQ next door when she was only a kitten. She became a staple who was loved by customers. Sadly, no one has seen her in weeks.

Bar manager Rachel Stevens told KVUE that around the end of the chaotic SXSW festival in mid- March, Brisket disappeared. She vanished once before, and it was discovered that she was taken nearly four miles away to the Mueller neighborhood because someone wanted to re-home her. Even though the beautiful long-haired cat is microchipped with the Spider House address, Stevens is worried that someone thought she was a stray and therefore up for grabs and took her away from the place she knows best.

If you have any information concerning the whereabouts of Brisket, please call Spider House at (512) 480-9562. As they heartbreakingly wrote in an Instagram post, “Brisket is very much loved and cared for…If anyone has seen her, or mistakenly took her home, please contact us asap. We miss our girl.”
