In an effort to give where and what’s best needed, Bass Pro Shops has provided over 80 boats to support Hurricane Harvey relief and rescue efforts following the storm’s devastation.

Relying on boats to navigate flood waters in and around Houston, rescue crews are searching as many parts of southeastern Texas as they can reach. Experiencing massive flooding, according to a report by FOX News, area officials have identified that over 3,000 people have been rescued, and local law enforcement, emergency, and relief agencies are asking those residents who have boats to try and assist in the rescue efforts.

Reports further indicate that Bass Pro Shops will be sending Tracker boats to rescue organizations and government agencies for use in the flooding, as well as $40,000 in supplies, including food items that are rich in protein for those volunteering in the field. The supplies will be provided by the truckload to the American Red Cross as well as the Convoy of Hope, in best efforts to get them where they’re needed in the shortest amount of time.

In the meantime, the Texas Governor’s office continues to work with first responders and aid organizations to assess ongoing needs and apprise corporations, relief groups, volunteers, and the general public with respect to area requirements and assistance efforts. Bass Pro, itself, has seven stores and boating centers throughout the state of Texas, three of which are in the greater Houston area. The Bass Pro Cares Fund is presently providing financial support for its store associates in the region in their time of need.
