Yoga relieves stress, reduces weight, increases muscle strength and flexibility, and improves energy and vitality. If that isn’t motivation enough, add beer and good company at the end of a session for one happy yoga experience. There are several places in Austin that offer pints and poses themed events.

1. Wabi-Sabi Health and Wellness and Zilker Brewing Company

Instructors from Wabi-Sabi Health and Wellness lead an hour long yoga class in the warehouse behind the taproom at Zilker Brewing Company, 1701 E 6th Street, Austin. The classes are every Wednesday and cost $15. Tickets can be purchased upon arrival, according to the Wabi-Sabi website. After you pay, collect your drink ticket and sign a waiver. The check in process is 6:30 – 6:55 p.m.

After check-in, everyone will meet in the warehouse behind the taproom for class,” the website says. “We will then flow through an hour long yoga session. After class, everyone will move to the tap room to enjoy some of Zilker’s craft brew. To redeem your pint after class, simply provide the bartender with the ticket you received upon payment and pick out your favorite brew!” There is metered parking available along E 6th Street near the brewery and free parking is available near 7th and Comal.

2. Hyatt Regency

Hyatt Regency Austin offers a free, one-hour vinyasa yoga class on the second Monday of each month from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 208 Barton Springs Road, Austin. “Classes will be led by Austin yogi Ferny Barcelo from Six Elephants Yoga+Therapy, and will be assisted by instructor Zuzu Perkal from Blackbird Fitness and City Surf Austin,” the Hyatt Regency Austin website says. “End your practice with a complimentary local draft on the patio and extended happy hour.”

There is free parking available in the hotel’s covered garage and citrus-infused water offered outside the large ballroom studio space. There are also live acoustic sets and pop-up shops from local yoga-inspired companies on select days.
