Best Vacation Spots for Your Wallet

With summer in full swing and the kids out of school, many are wondering what to do for the penultimate vacation. A recent study conducted by Wallet Hub set out to determine the best vacation spots in the country.

The study centered around giving you the most “bang for your buck.” Sure, you have some perfect destinations in mind, but you’re also probably looking for places that are kid friendly and won’t cost an entire year’s salary. The study compared 80 of the top vacation spots in the U.S. and evaluated them across 38 key indicators. Let’s take a look at the results and see if any Texas destinations made the list.

Rounding out the top five were Los Angeles (#2), Orlando (#3), Chicago (#4), and San Diego (#5). San Diego also received the #1 ranking in the “Activities” category.

At the bottom of the list was New Haven, Connecticut. The combination of high costs and not a lot of “Attractions” are the reasons for the ranking. Rounding out the bottom five were Bridgeport, Connecticut (#79), Cleveland (#78), Worcester, Massachusetts (#77) and Syracuse, New York (#76). Cleveland also received the lowest overall ranking in the “Safety” category.

Oh, vacation!
