A Texas Hill Country Treat: Bootjack Bar in Bergheim

The town of Bergheim, Texas may appear to be little more than a few houses, a gas station, restaurant, and an old general store but if you slow down at the stop light and explore a bit, you may find a few extras. One example is the Bootjack Bar, found in the 46 Crossing strip center, behind the previously mentioned gas station. Opened in 2012, this spacious, new build establishment offers bar seating and pub tables, as well as an expansive outdoor area, with picnic tables covered by a metal roof. In chilly weather, a fire pit is often roaring away. Many Texas distilleries and breweries are featured within the full bar and among the multiple keg taps; the variety of beverage options will surely please most palate preferences. For fun, play pool on one of several tables, throw darts for a game of cricket or slide your way to shuffleboard glory. If you’d rather watch someone else play games, six big screens are always on.

Bootjack Bar also likes to have events! Every few weeks, a new event is being hosted onsite, including karaoke, steak night, theme parties, crawfish boils, and an annual chili cook-off. The overall vibe here is laid back and friendly. John is the name of the manager there and he works hard to ensure patrons feel welcomed. The location is a scenic Texas Hill Country setting and the interior boasts all the niceties of a place in a downtown metropolis.

Smoking is not allowed inside. Cash and credit cards are accepted. If you currently think of boot jacks as just a way to get shoes off, consider the Bootjack Bar at FM 3351 N and Hwy 46 (between Bulverde and Boerne) for another perspective. Five years and going strong have made this bar a highlight of Bergheim and the surrounding area.
