Boutique Riverwalk Hotel to Receive $10M Worth of Renovations
The already beautiful Hotel Valencia Riverwalk at 150 East Houston Street in San Antonio is now undergoing $10 million worth of renovations. The 200-room boutique hotel has a restaurant and bar that will get the most thorough facelifts.
MySA.com writes that Valencia Group’s executive vice president of operations Roy Kretschmer said they aim to “create a completely new hotel experience and reset the bar for the entire San Antonio hospitality industry.” Their current restaurant, Citrus, will be renamed Dorrego after a plaza in Buenos Aires. It will gain a new menu and a great selection of Argentinean wines, and the new bar and café will offer breakfast and coffee in the morning and tapas and cocktails in the evening.
As of now, the hotel is still welcoming guests. A recent Trip Advisor review by windscar528 reads, “Once we got inside however, the hotel was under heavy renovations, which we were unaware of. Although this was a surprise to us, it did not ruin our overall experience thanks [too] the quick and effective service of all departments, from the front desk, to room service, to the guys down with valet.” Even with the millions of dollars going into renovations, it seems like visitors are still enjoying the Riverwalk getaway.
