Having a day out on a sand beach with the kids or your loved one (or even on your own for some self-care) is easy to do in Quintana and Surfside Beach. Swimming, looking for seashells, and sunbathing are top priorities here! Bryan Beach is also available at Freeport, and Follett’s Beach (13 miles of amazing public access beach) is open between San Luis Pass and Surfside Beach, which is perfect for fishing.

In addition to a great beach getaway, the Brazosport Area is loaded with activities to occupy and entertain those of all ages. One of the South’s largest seashell collections can be found at the Center for the Arts & Sciences in Clute. The BASF Planetarium at Brazosport College is also an amazing place for family fun. Sea Center Texas, belonging to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, boasts an aquarium as well as the largest Redfish hatchery in the world! Brazoria and San Bernard National Wildlife Refuges (the former being 44,414 acres, and the latter being 45,730 acres, both along the coast) provide fantastic nature and wildlife viewing which are beyond compare! Leisure and sports activities and community-focused events are easy to find and do in the Brazosport Area. These include stargazing, parades, harvest festivals, and concerts. Family time, downtime, and you-time are easy to accommodate and worth the drive to the Texas Gulf Coast for a fall getaway!
