Breaking: Active Shooter in Dallas, 1 Firefighter Shot

It’s been reported that a member of the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department has been shot and hospitalized in the east end of the city today, while the shooter presently remains at large. News reports indicate that the Dallas Police Department is actively searching East Dallas for the perpetrator, and have surrounded a home in the area.

Additional details about the shooting have not been made immediately clear, and the story continues to develop, however several streets in the 3200 block of Reynolds Avenue in the city are now closed and the scene remains active. This area is located just south of I-30, near Dolphin Road, in East Dallas.

Details related to the incident indicate that Emergency crews had been responding to a call which was made at approximately 11:30 a.m. today when they came under gunfire. The Firefighter that was injured has been taken to Baylor University Medical Center, however, there is no word on how badly he’s been hurt, nor whether there are additional injuries to other emergency responders.

Early descriptions on the active shooter identify that he is bald and walks with a limp, however, no additional details have been released.
