TX Brothers Build Website to Help Others Save Money on Prescriptions

“You shouldn’t have to choose between your health and your finances,” reads the homepage of RefillWise. Recently founded by Houstonian brothers Paul and Stephen Thomas, RefillWise provides a free membership card to participants that aids in acquiring discounts on prescription medications.

Paul Thomas told Click2Houston.com, “Our average savings for the average consumer is around 40 percent… sometimes we can save consumers even more, up to 80 percent, sometimes it’s less.” How do they magically save you money? RefillWise approaches pharmacies with the number of people they have with their program to convince the pharmacies to keep the customers by offering discounts.

Since it’s free for people to join and doesn’t require a membership fee, many people are excited about the new program. Click2Houston spoke to 55-year-old Tina Wood about how her membership with RefillWise has gone so far. “I’ve saved approximately $146.90 for my medicines…that’s every 30 days. That kind of savings will actually pay for a couple of my prescriptions outright,” she told the news.

A list of participating American pharmacies are listed on the RefillWise website (“CVS, Costco, Kmart, Kroger, Rite Aid, Safeway, Sam’s Club, Target, Tom Thumb, Walgreens, Walmart”), as well as information on how to sign up and start saving.
