Why is a Houstonian hating on a famous Houston area rapper? According to ABC 13, Dontralle Brown Reed started a petition on Change.org to “ban Bun B from Houston Sports” because the local sports teams don’t appear to do as well if the rapper is around.

“We have lost players, primetime games and shots at championships every time he’s involved from appearances to his songs. The fans are growing tired and this has been going on the past 5 years. He only comes around when we are winning so its only right ban him from the teams. He is a bandwagon for his image,” the petition reads. So far, 188 people have signed. Once 200 sign off on the idea of banning Bun B, Reed plans to send the document on to Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner along with the owners of the Texans, Rockets, and Astros.

But it seems like Reed’s opinion is in the minority. On KPRC’s Facebook, people responded that they refused to put any blame on Bun B, even in jest. “This is the most stupid story I’ve read all day…Keep doing your thing Bun B!!!! Haters are gonna HATE…” Katrina Denise wrote in support of the local musician.
