Whether you’re of Scottish ancestry or just a big fan of the movie “Braveheart,” there’s a Hill Country event happening this weekend that you won’t want to miss. April 7-8, travel on down to Helotes, Texas, to watch the 2018 San Antonio Highland Games and Celtic Music Festival. Complete with live music, bagpipes, archery and so much more, the event has something for everyone.
The Highland Games are a way of honoring the rich culture of Scotland and Celtic heritage in general. You’re sure to see plenty of kilts and bagpipes, as well as some truly impressive athletic competitions. There’s even a booth run by the Scottish Society of San Antonio where you can discover your clan and learn about your family history.
