The Children’s Association for Maximum Potential (CAMP) will be hosting CAMPFest 2019 here in the Texas Hill Country! Those with special needs, as well as their families, can enjoy a free day designed specifically for them, to participate in and experience camp events, a complimentary lunch, and a celebration in Center Point, featuring the opening of three new buildings: Health Care Facility, Camper Cabin, and Arts & Crafts Pavilion.

Interested participants are invited to register in advance for this event, at the link available here. It will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. CAMPFest families can anticipate a camp tour, a Resource Fair at which they can gather community resources, a question & answer session with the camping staff, and on-site application assistance. Participants are invited to learn more about CAMP services and facilities and how best they can benefit from its programming.

Those with special needs, as well as their siblings, can enjoy traditional camp activities at CAMPFest, such as arts and crafts, outdoor cooking, and archery, among others. There will also be a caricature artist on hand to capture some funny portraits, a bouncy house, face painting, a petting zoo, and (weather permitting) even a splash pad!

In 2019, CAMP is celebrating its 40th anniversary. The Children’s Association for Maximum Potential was established in 1979 and has two locations in Texas, one in San Antonio, and one in Center Point. With the opening of three new buildings at their Center Point Location, including their Health Care Facility, Camper Cabin, and Arts & Crafts Center, they anticipate improved ability to support individuals with special needs and their families. Their mission is to strengthen and support individuals with special needs – and those care for them – through Recreation, Respite, and Education. They believe that “CAMP is for the camper.” In that process, their goal is to assist every camper in reaching their maximum potential. With that, CAMPFest 2019 is sure to be one celebration families won’t want to miss! For more details regarding CAMP and its CAMPFest 2019 event, please visit the web link available here.
