You Can Own a ‘Castle’ in Alvin, Texas for $300K
At 800 W. Sindor Street in Alvin, Texas sits a three-story, 9,000 square foot “castle” on .57 acres of land for $295,000. It looks out of place in the quiet neighborhood, but this 1924 build has enough history to proudly stand out.
ABC News explains that even though it’s now described as a “single family home,” this building has taken on many identities. It began as a Methodist church, and once they moved out, the building became home to the Karpeles Manuscript Museum Library.
According to the news, “Sales Director of Century 21 Paramount Christopher Sanger says the unique property just hasn’t found the right person yet.” And this property truly needs a unique owner as the bones of this house are not typical.
HAR.com says that the Neo-Classical building has a basement with three rooms, a kitchen, a couple of bathrooms and a huge 41′ x 40′ “main area.” The next floor has more bathrooms, a 49′ x 39′ “sanctuary,” a workshop and two offices. The final floor has five rooms and a couple of balconies. According to the listing, it’s only considered to be a single bedroom home (maybe due to the lack of closets.)
If you’ve ever fantasized about owning a castle, perhaps this is your chance!
