Things to Do
Celebrate the Holidays at ‘Christmas in Comfort’
The highlight of “Christmas in Comfort” is the evening Christmas Parade (Weinachten Lichter). The streets at night are filled with holiday sounds and music that we all know and love. More than 150 of the most uniquely decorated floats coming down the historic streets give the Macy’s Day Parade a little bit of hometown competition.
Everyone gathers on High Street at 6 p.m. for the lighting of the Christmas tree. It is amazing, always the most beautiful tree ever. Afterward, the lighted parade will begin. The best seating for the popular parade is on blankets and chairs along the parade route or in the Historic District. Some folks on the parade route even open their own beautifully decorated homes to visitors.
Right after Santa Claus and his team reaches the end of the street, a magical fireworks display will begin. It’s a sight to behold. Now, if you’re not in the Christmas spirit by this time, then there’s just no hope for you.

Comfort is the perfect setting for Christmas. Remember the old Christmas movies we watched as kids? Well, it’s like that minus the snow, of course. All of those movies were made up north. Comfort is full of southern character and charm all year long. It’s only natural that the holidays here would be so special.
Comfort offers great antique shops, boutiques, wineries, and those one-of-a-kind pieces of art. Everyone has at least that one finicky relative who can never be pleased with any gift. We bet this year, you’ll be able to find the perfect item they will absolutely love.
Plenty to do!

“Christmas in Comfort,” along with everything else, is an enormous holiday bazaar with over 125 arts and crafts vendors plus the brick and mortar stores. There are plenty of holiday activities to keep everyone happy.
