Southern Champagne Salad

It’s that time of year — the season for Easter family dinners, baby showers, and wedding and bridal showers. What does that mean? Well, if you’re a “hostess with the mostess”, you’ll certainly want to impress your guests by serving some delicious and beautiful treats.

In true Southern fashion, we’re bringing you a classic shower dish that your guests will “oooh” and “aaah” over. Its light, fruity flavor paired with the creamy, sweet texture is sure to please any crowd. So, whether you’re cooking for the in-laws or you’re hosting a shower, this is one recipe you’ll want to put on display.

Champagne Salad

INGREDIENTS:

1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened

3/4 cup sugar

2 cans (18 oz. each) chunked pineapple

1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen strawberries

2 bananas, sliced

1/2 cup pecans, chopped

1 carton (9 oz.) whipped topping

INSTRUCTIONS:

Mix together cream cheese and sugar. Drain well and add pineapple, strawberries, bananas, and pecans. Fold in whipped topping.

Serve in a pretty bowl and chill or pour in a 9″x 13″ glass baking dish and freeze. If frozen, cut to serve and garnish with mint leaf.
