When Cameron and Jessie Bell bought an authentic original shotgun home in Waco, Texas, they tasked Joanna and Chip Gaines of Fixer Upper to help give it a major makeover. What Joanna and Chip did with this tiny Waco home is absolutely incredible. This transformation turned into one of the duo’s most unique Fixers to date. At just around 720-square-feet, they had to get creative.

The original home had to be moved to a different location — a piece of land that the Bell’s purchased near Baylor University.

In the main room, they installed wood flooring, floor-to-ceiling windows and knocked down the wall that separated the living room and what was the bedroom.

Perhaps the most incredible transformation is the kitchen area. Knowing that the kitchen and the dining room would have to share a space, Joanna and Chip installed the largest kitchen island possible for seating. To ensure an open look, they used exposed shelving. For a fun twist, they added a powder blue retro refrigerator.

To add a little more space, they built a small loft. To pull this off, they had to completely replace the roof. The staircase actually works on a pulley system and can easily be stowed. The loft is home to a little sitting area and office that look over the main space.

The bedroom and bathroom were also completely redone. Joanna and chip used punches of teal and lots of natural lighting to bring life to the rooms.
