Everyone living in the Houston area knows that Sunny 99.1 is the number one radio station in that part of Texas for Christmas music. Once they start playing everything from Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” to Wham!’s “Last Christmas,” they don’t stop until a day after the holiday is over!

“The merry playlist hasn’t changed much over the years over on Sunny 99.1, though there’s more Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood now,” Chron.com writes alongside the announcement that Sunny 99.1 will start their holiday song programming this Friday. Though they’re beginning their cheerful playlist before Thanksgiving, Chron.com writes that 99.1FM isn’t starting that early compared to SiriusXM’s holiday station that popped up the day after Halloween.

Sunny posted a countdown to their famous Christmas programming to their Facebook page, and overall, it looks like people are excited about the switchover. “It’s the most wonderful time of the year! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Happy holidays!” Tallie Hodges wrote. But, of course, some people aren’t ready to start jamming to “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” just yet. “I think y’all should wait until after Thanksgiving… I love your Christmas music but can you just wait one more week?” Amanda Baker pleaded.
