For all the “Walker, Texas Ranger” fans and great Chuck Norris Halloween costumes we’ve seen over the years, you’re going to want to mark May 4, 2019, on your calendar and make your way to College Station. This Texas town will be hosting a 5K at which participants can dress like their hero in hopes of setting a world record. It’s called the CForce Chuck Norris 5K, and for his admirers, it’s a great opportunity to meet “the man, the myth, the legend,” and maybe even get a high-five!

The race itself kicks off at 9 a.m. The race registration will include a custom t-shirt, a belt buckle, and a fake beard so runners can mimic their role model! Race participants are also invited to design their own costume to look like Chuck Norris in the event’s efforts to set the world record for the most people dressed like him (unique, and not out of the realm of possibility). The costume contest following the race features prizes for best male and female Norrises (or Norri? What’s the plural of Chuck Norris?) and one for the best child costume for 12 years and under.

The man himself will be present to start the race, and will be waiting at the finish line! With that same sense of humor that Chuck and his admirers share, event organizers have noted they’re “not responsible for any injuries that might occur from allowing Chuck Norris to give you a high five.” Online registration is happening now, and if you do so prior to January 31, the cost is only $30. Following that, it increases in increments of $5 from February 1-April 12 and April 13-26 respectively. Onsite registration will also be available on the morning of the race at the cost of $50. There are also discounted rates for children and students, along with a family rate (for 3-5 members) for the whole Norris-loving family! For full details, visit the Cforce Chuck Norris 5K web link available here. Participants will also be treated to a post-race party featuring their idol’s favorite foods paired with some local brews. For the kids, there will also bouncy houses and face painting. It’s a great family-focused event that’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser.
