After posting a recent Facebook video to his page, Cody Jinks has touched fans from not only Texas but throughout the country with his heartfelt song “I’m Not the Devil.” The video opens with a brief interview with Cody, in which he identifies the daily choice we all have to make, prefacing his moving lyrics.

“In a moment of weakness, I stumbled, and I made my bed…” are words from the song that we’re sure have been spoken a time or two by fans of this Denton, TX singer and songwriter. Comments from fans range from “True from the heart full of soul…” to “Raw country, no gimmicks, right out the heart.” The video features Jinks playing an acoustic guitar and singing his song strongly. It’s currently had close to 3 million views and 45,000 shares, and we’re sure you’ll enjoy it just as much as his Facebook fans have.

Reaching number four on the Billboard’s Country Albums chart, the album by the same name was released this year to fan favor. Originally hailing from Haltom City, Jinks attended high school there before forming a heavy metal band in Fort Worth. The band broke up after a Los Angeles gig, after which Jinks took a year off, and then came back to the music scene in 2005, playing the music he grew up on – country music. A prior hit that received North American notice was his single “Cast No Stones” which earned comments that he had similar tones and stylings to that of Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings. Either way, we’re glad he came to the country side of things!
