After the terrible acts of violence in Dallas, the Texas community needs extra care to heal. To help spread a sense of peace and well-being, the Lutheran Church Charities Comfort Dogs traveled from Chicago to the Lone Star State after receiving an invite.

ABC 13 reports that, “The group, made up of at least six dogs and 10 adults, plans to visit with the police department, families, residents and even strangers.”

Though it is definitely not easy to fly with so many dogs, the organizers only see the benefits of traveling to help those who need a moment of contentment and release.

The Lutheran Church Charities Comfort Dogs posted on their Facebook page about their visit to a Dallas Police Center, “We spent time talking with the officers and letting them get to know us. We saw smiles before we left and we encouraged them to call us back anytime. It was such an honor to visit with them.”

The photos and comments of encouragement on their Facebook page alone are enough to bring a tear to one’s eye. Anyone who has ever loved a dog knows how much these creatures can give to mankind.
