Situated at the quintessential “biggest little bar in Texas,” the Cowboy Mardi Gras will be taking place from February 1-3 this year at the 11th St. Cowboy Bar in Bandera. Sure to leave an impression that’s one for the ages, all the folks that participate in this Cajun-inspired celebration are guaranteed some Texas-sized memories filled with good times, laughter, and a whole lot of fun! But, there are three things that definitely won’t happen at Cowboy Mardi Gras.
Things to Do
3 Things That Won’t Happen at Cowboy Mardi Gras
1. You Won’t be Bored

Playing host to this event for a number of years, the 11th St. Cowboy Bar will feature such festivities as a canine costume contest, a world championship gumbo cook-off, the annual Mardi Gras Parade, and a costume contest, all flanked by phenomenal music and award-winning food.
2. There Won’t Be a Shortage of Fun

Among the acts which will be hosted at this year’s event are the CMA Award-winner Chubby Carrier Terry and the Zydeco Bad Boys, Rusty Metoyer and Zydeco Crush, Tommy & Jake Hooker & the Outsiders, Leroy Thomas and the Zydeco Roadrunners, and Jeff Woolsey and the Dance Hall Kings. This event promises lots of Cajun food, colorful parade floats, cowboys and cowgirls kicking up their bootheels, and lots of beads being randomly tossed around for various reasons…if you don’t know why ask someone at the event.
3. You Won’t Need More Reasons to Visit Bandera

If you weren’t already looking for a reason to visit the “Cowboy Capital of the World” (like its title wasn’t reason enough), you definitely should be now, and this should be one for the list. New Orleans may have the granddaddy of these events, but here in Bandera, we do all things like they’re done in Texas – big!
