Bandera is known for having a few bars, some even legendary. However, craft beer is not an established staple. The Bandera Ale Project, locally known as the Bandera Brewery, is looking to change that. Located on the left hand side of Highway 16 when driving to Bandera from San Antonio, within the Bandera Landing strip center, this small-batch, craft brewery opened its doors in November 2017. This community-minded small business supports local vendors, commerce, and musicians.

The tidy, industrial style location boasts a newly completed beer garden and great events including pairing parties, comedy tours, poker nights, and live music. A food truck is parked onsite each day and typically begins serving around 4:30 p.m. These vendors are on rotation and are often requested back by patrons. And big things are still in the works for this little brewery that could! The goal is to have roughly ten beers on tap, with the Honey Brown, IPA, Pale Ale, and Blonde consistently available, in addition to seasonal brews. The Bandera Ale Project also plans to distribute by Fall 2018 to Hill Country restaurants.
