For those who don’t want to fight the crowds (or maybe get out of their pajamas even!) there’s the blessing of Cyber Monday. If the internet has taught us anything, it’s that the world can be bought – online. But was the Monday after Thanksgiving of 2016 really the best day for online shopping, or are there better deals to be had every other day? Each year, the sales creep up on us, catching us off guard. That being the case, both online and brick-and-mortar stores allow you to catch good deals on Thanksgiving, but there are plenty of reasons you’re better to start your shopping sooner if you want to grab the all-time best sales.

Sold Out!

The items you’ve had your eyes on, just waiting for that big deal, will probably be available in limited quantities, meaning they could be sold out by Cyber Monday. In fact, Cyber Monday was cited as the top day that online shoppers landed on out-of-stock-item pages. So spare yourself the online shopping blues – if you didn’t get the great deal this year, next year shop earlier, smarter, and better.

In an article by Huffington Post, it was identified that the best opportunities for online shopping deals were actually on Thanksgiving Day. Online prices were noted as being the lowest on Thanksgiving, higher on Black Friday and at their highest on Cyber Monday. With those kind of sales tactics, you’ll wind up busting the bank! Avoid the “sales” gimmicks and trust your inner online shopper – get the deals sooner than later.

Time is Money

Larger online companies such as Amazon start their Black Friday sales a week in advance of Black Friday, if not more, and therefore 10 days prior to Cyber Monday. Other retailers, such as For Your Entertainment, Target, and Best Buy, will have one-day online specials for Thanksgiving Day, which has traditionally been found to be the largest mobile shopping day of the retail year according to research completed by Adobe. Ultimately, anytime is a good time to save an online dime.
