In a chilling story that will make any 40-50-year-old’s blood run cold, the movie “Dazed and Confused” turns 25 years old in 2018. That’s right. The coming-of-age movie with a plot that follows several Texas teenage cliques through their last day of school in 1976 is turning a quarter of a century this year. Do you feel old yet?

Filmed in 1993 the comedy was written and directed by Richard Linklater. It featured a large cast covering a number of roles at varying levels of teenage angst. Many of the actors in the film would later go on to become huge stars – Matthew McConaughey, Ben Affleck, Milla Jovovich, and Parker Posey, to name a few.

Grossing under $8 million at the box office, it appeared to pick up a huge wave of popularity on release for home viewing. It gained notoriety with the likes of Quentin Tarantino, and was ranked third on the list of 50 Best High School Movies by Entertainment Weekly magazine, which also ranked it as 10th on their listing of “Funniest Movies of the Past 25 Years.” The “Dazed and Confused” title was drawn from a Led Zeppelin song by the same name and seems to ring true with many of the film’s fans who can no doubt relate to the experiences each of the teenage groups go through in the various storylines. Does it even feel like 25 years have gone by since this was released? How can that even be so?! Have you watched this movie and, if so, where does it rank on your list of great or not-so-great films? (But, who are we kidding…this could hardly rank on a list of anything not-so-great!)
