Did you spot the dinosaurs floating above Bandera recently?

The Bandera Natural History Museum is readying for its 2016 spring opening, and as part of their dinosaur display, they hoisted those replicas by crane onto the 8-acre grounds. It was a real sight to see in the town.

Ranging from “200 pounds to one ton,” the replicas were created by an artist who has also worked on the sets of Jurassic Park and Night at the Museum, Jose Edid. The Natural History Museum is nearing completion and will include educational stations and art pieces that are meant to depict various regions of the world.

The Bandera Natural History Museum was once the Bandera Exotic Wildlife Museum and the official groundbreaking ceremony occurred on February 17, 2015. The change was made to “reflect a broader scope of the museum’s mission” which includes a more international take on the museum’s original scope.

It’s exciting to see the dinosaurs floating in the air, and even more exciting to think that the museum itself is almost complete. We’ll definitely be visiting the revamped Bandera Natural History Museum when it opens, will you?
