Texas Dog Up For Adoption Goes Viral For His Adorable Smile
On October 20, the City of Waller Animal Shelter and Rescue posted on Facebook about one particular pup who came into their shelter to be placed for adoption. “Y’all… this smiling dog we got in at the shelter yesterday is ridiculous! #ICantEven,” they wrote alongside a photo of the dog grinning from ear to ear! Of course, people couldn’t get enough of the silly smile, and the pup, named Cheech, went viral with over 7.6 thousand shares.
As KSAT points out, the City of Waller Animal Shelter and Rescue hasn’t even officially opened yet. The shelter is the first in the city, and previously, all animals were taken to the pound where they would be euthanized after only three days. The new rescue center uses the old city jail to house animals up for adoption.
On their Facebook post, the shelter says that Cheech has received tons of attention from potential owners, “…however we have tons of great homeless pups available,” they remind pet lovers. They also want to invite Texans to attend their Grand Opening event taking place on November 12. To entice visitors, they’re offering free pet microchipping, showing the Texans and Cowboys game, and bringing out pets who are up for adoption.
