A popular Texas Hill Country doughnut hot spot has announced its grand opening date for a San Antonio location on the River Walk. Gourdough’s Public House, which is based in Austin, has issued a statement revealing that fans will only have to wait patiently until February 23 for its second locale to open its doors.

Its newest restaurant will be located at 215 Losoya Street in San Antonio, offering a variety of doughnuts like you’ve seldom seen before, cool cocktails, and even doughnut burgers. Stop salivating and read on! Co-owners Ryan Palmer and Paula Samford are elated at the amount of attention this new offering is getting. “We have been blown away with the amount of excitement and support we’ve already received from San Antonio,” Samford told mysanantonio.com in a press release announcing the opening. “We couldn’t be more excited to finally bring Gourdough’s Big. Fat. Donuts. to the Alamo City.”

The second Gourdough’s location will have hours to accommodate the downtown crowd. Monday through Thursday it will be open from 11 a.m. until 12 a.m. On Fridays they’ll be open from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 a.m., and on Sunday from 10 a.m. until 12 a.m. It will also feature what the co-owners have described as “interactive” dining experiences and some menu updates.

Gourdough’s is in the process of coordinating the grand opening celebration, but they’ve hinted that a marching band, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and quite possibly a doughnut wall may be in order! “We really think San Antonio is going to love some of the new ideas and experiences we’re putting into this location that they haven’t seen at Gourdough’s before,” Palmer noted. “Our hope is that customers will really enjoy our upgraded dining experience, and we plan to take some of these ideas and implement them into our Austin location as well.”
