Drink and Drive in Canada? Cops Threaten to Tune You Up With Nickelback

By  |

Constable Robb Hartlen, author of the original Facebook post, is actually a fan of Nickelback despite the fact that the Canadian band’s song “Rockstar” is listed on a Wikipedia page titled “List of Music Considered the Worst.”

Hartlen said part of the reason he chose Nickelback was because Kroeger, the band’s frontman, had previously been convicted of drunken driving.

Hartlen said authorities were trying to “put a little humor into a very serious matter of drinking and driving.” It’s not that law enforcement in Kensington doesn’t take the matter seriously. “It’s that police are viewed as this stoic, stone-faced entity,” he said. “People listen better when they can relate.”

Just because this has been threatened in Canada, doesn’t mean something similar couldn’t happen in the U.S. So, do yourself a favor. Don’t drink and drive.
