Have you ever wondered what kind of barbecue celebrities order? Well, look no further than Texas’ own, Governor Greg Abbott, as he sits down at Hill Country Barbecue Market in Washington, D.C. on a recent visit to the nation’s capital.

Now, because Governor Abbott isn’t in Texas in this video, it’s hard to say what he would really pig out on at a local Texas barbecue market, but we can get a good idea. His recipe for barbecue success? Brisket, banana pudding, ribs, and hold the coleslaw.

That’s right, Governor Abbott isn’t a huge coleslaw fan, but he sure knows what good BBQ is as he tells the audience that Austin is basically ground zero for BBQ in Texas. He mentions Franklin’s, but you almost want to ask him what his down-home favorite local shop is.

He also makes a good point about eating a BBQ dinner – “if it’s not a 2,000 or 3,000 calorie meal, it’s wrong.” When you have good BBQ, you have to go big or go home.

Is your stomach growling thinking about all this delicious BBQ? Watch Governor Abbott talk about it in Washington D.C. at Hill Country Barbecue Market.
