A Texas teenager has founded a business venture which is designed to provide healthier organic cupcake options together with organic color-matching drinks (infused waters, lattes, and smoothies). Nina Warda, the owner of Nina’s Organic Cupcakes, has established a Kickstarter campaign to develop crowdfunding for her first store in order to demonstrate the health-friendly and proactive snack and beverage options she’s designed as a viable business. She also plans to have franchises available in the near future.

At the age of 13, Warda has lofty goals, but this is nothing new for the determined young lady. Long an advocate for food safety and healthier eating, she has wanted to educate adults and children alike on the positive points of good nutrition. In fact, the concept for her business came from an actual experience in this area that got Warda thinking. She was invited to a birthday party where some very beautiful-looking cupcakes were presented, however, she knew they were made with artificial flavoring and color. She chose to pass on the delicacies while thinking about how to develop a more appealing organic version. She wanted to produce a cupcake that was both appealing and not harmful to those that consumed it.

Warda went to work researching the subject industriously. She soon found out that there were few celebratory food options available that weren’t damaging to people’s health. This made her even more determined to create a niche market for healthy cupcakes made from organic ingredients and free of GMOs (genetically modified organisms,) artificial dyes, and harmful toxins. In the process, she’s become a Certified Nutrition Coach as well as a Certified Raw Food & Plant Based Chef, spreading the word about healthier eating habits and crusading for people to take control of their health.

Warda has also produced a number of food-related video and online cooking lessons to empower viewers to make educated decisions and raise awareness on healthy food options, and her whole family is supporting her by studying nutrition and becoming Certified Nutrition Coaches themselves (both parents as well as her 15-year-old brother.) Her message is simple: you don’t have to give up on fun, delicious foods in order to eat healthier. You simply need to gain some knowledge and make wiser decisions regarding what you ingest.
