There’s a grand, brand-new indoor water park on the Texas horizon, and it’s opening at the close of 2017 in Grand Prairie. Epic Waters is said to be one of the largest of its kind in North America, featuring nine water slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, and a flow rider for those looking to try their hand at surfing. In all, it promises to be spectacular water fun for families looking to get away from it all!

Situated off of Arkansas Lane and President George Bush Turnpike, Epic Waters will also be home to retail shopping, eating establishments, and a retractable roof, which is the key component which allows for it to remain open year-round. This makes the facility a destination rather than a simple stop in a vacation plan. Families can spend the entire day enjoying time together or on their own, shopping, eating, and swimming to their heart’s content.

According to a video report by NBC DFW, park officials describe the facility as a “…cruise ship on land.” The retractable roof is said to be able to work at the push of a button, giving park-goers “…a two-in-one experience – we’ve got an indoor waterpark and an outdoor waterpark…” This new water park experience in Texas measures up in terms of size and plans, and developers have identified that the park is anticipated to open late this year. As of yet, however, there has been no official grand opening date presently scheduled.
