Texas is home to many farms that invite families to participate in unique activities. Of all these great places,  The Jersey Barnyard in La Grange is a true stand-out. They combine our love of ice cream together with friendly and adorable barnyard animals, creating a family stop you’ll want to make more than once!

The Jersey Barnyard is a Texas farm which has been in existence for roughly a century. Visitors have the chance to not only tour their family-owned dairy farm, but also pet their animals, and top it off with a delicious scoop of Blue Bell ice cream. On 740 acres, the Frerichs family farm is home to nearly 100 cows. Milked twice a day, these cows provide an awesome opportunity for visitors to learn about the farm-to-market dairy process. Guests can also try their hand at milking.

The Jersey Barnyard holds daily guided tours on which you can feed and pet such critters as rabbits, goats, ducks, and chickens. As if that wasn’t enough, you can also nurse a calf! And, when all is said and done (and petted), visitors can stop by the farm gift shop to refresh themselves with the best that Blue Bell ice cream has to offer. It’s hard to think of anything more delightful than sitting in the sun on a beautiful Texas farm, enjoying your favorite cool treat in a cone or cup. The store also features a variety of fresh dairy and farm products for sale, such as raw milk, eggs, yogurt, goat cheese, and plenty more. Not only that, but The Jersey Barnyard holds wonderful seasonal events that the whole family can enjoy, such as the upcoming Pumpkin Patch and Great Pumpkin Run, and a delightful Easter Egg Hunt in the spring, among others. To plan a family trip to the farm, visit their website at the link provided here or check them out on Facebook for current events and updates.
