The holiday fun kicks off with the lighting of downtown New Braunfels on November 22, complete with the town Christmas tree. The mayor will flip the switch in the lighting ceremony, setting thousands of twinkling lights all aglow! Beginning at 6 p.m., the streets are shut down, a community band will be onsite to serenade guests, and the lights will turn on at 6:25 p.m. 10 minutes later, Santa will arrive on a vintage fire truck, after which kids can visit, let him know their Christmas wishes, and get their pictures taken! The Downtown Association will be serving hot chocolate and light refreshments and the Canyon High School Steel Drum Band will play the sounds of the season for all to enjoy, starting at 7:30 p.m.
