Following four years of home renovations and remodeling, Chip and Joanna Gaines are stepping out of the limelight with respect to HGTV’s hit show “Fixer Upper” announcing that after the current season is complete, that will be a wrap.

In a blog post, the pair identified, “It is with both sadness and expectation that we share the news that season five of ‘Fixer Upper’ will be our last. While we are confident that this is the right choice for us, it has for sure not been an easy one to come to terms with. Our family has grown up alongside yours, and we have felt you rooting us on from the other side of the screen. How bittersweet to say goodbye to the very thing that introduced us all in the first place.”

Turning Waco, Texas into a destination for happy home redecorating fans, the pair that became remodeling reality T.V. stars began their journey to fame in 2013. The premise of the show is that three houses are shown to potential home buyers, and after the selection of the perfect place, Chip and Joanna complete general contractor and designer services to make it just right. Calling season five of the show the perfect finale for their journey, they noted that the “Fixer Upper: Behind the Design” spinoff will still premiere following this season. For their fans, they noted: “We aren’t done designing things to make your home your favorite place on earth. We aren’t done working towards restoration in all things or helping out those who could use a hand. In fact, in all of these of things, we are just getting started.”
