Frank Erwin Center Celebrates 40 Years With Special Guest George Strait

The Frank Erwin Center is celebrating its 40th anniversary in style with country music legend, George Strait, at the helm of its celebration on June 3, 2018. Strait is scheduled to play an exclusive “STRAIT TEXAS” show, according to its website.

“Presented by YETI®, this one-of-a-kind performance is currently the only Texas show on the King of Country’s concert calendar. Tickets go on sale during the venue’s anniversary month on Friday, Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. at TexasBoxOffice.com.” In a video shared by the ErwinCenter YouTube channel, Strait himself announced his appearance and invited fans to attend the show.

The Frank Erwin Center is in the heart of downtown Austin, Texas. It has been delighting folks with live entertainment since 1977.

“The multi-purpose facility is owned and operated by The University of Texas at Austin and serves as the home court for the Texas Longhorns Men’s and Women’s basketball teams,” shares its Facebook page.

Musical guests have included the likes of Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Diamond, Tina Turner, David Bowie, Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, and much more. “Strait has played an integral role in the venue’s legacy, having performed a total of 13 times, starting with his first show on Sept. 10, 1987, to his most recent performance on Jan. 10, 2014,” shares its website. “Rich and diverse history ranging from breakthrough musical performances and sporting events to visits from world leaders and former presidents.
