Texas Humane Heroes, a non-profit organization that finds loving homes for at-risk dogs and cats rescued from overcrowded municipal shelters, is hosting a family reunion for Frito – a dog who was lovingly adopted and since has been seeking his family – at their Leander Adoption Center on February 18. Big Cat BBQ, Andy’s Frozen Custard, and Gigi’s Cupcakes will also be joining in the festivities, guaranteeing fun for the whole family!

Thanks to the care and concern (as well as social media accounts) of pet lovers throughout Texas, five of Frito’s siblings as well as his mother, were located and will be reunited with him for a day of festivities, barbecue, custard, and cupcakes! The adoptive families for all siblings, as well as Frito’s mom, are excited to be bringing them together, to chow down on treats from Woof Gang Bakery and play with gifts from Tito’s Handmade Vodka. The pups’ foster mom will also be available to join in the festivities.

Texas Humane Heroes has locations in both Austin and the Killeen/Fort Hood areas with a mission to eliminate pet homelessness. Through donations, grants, and small fees-for-service, the organization rescues dogs and cats from shelters across Texas in efforts to prepare them for adoption to a forever home. They partner with more than 70 shelters in over 35 counties and draw families and individuals from across Texas seeking to adopt the dogs and cats, and add to their families. Over 95% of the animals saved come from overcrowded shelters, and some have save rates as low as five percent.
