Gallery Furniture’s Grand Parkway and I-45 locations were opened up as shelters for Houstonians impacted by the floods from Harvey on Sunday. Mattress Mack (A.K.A. Jim McIngvale,) owner of the stores and bonafide Houston celebrity known for his catchy commercials and special promotions, tweeted, “Our GF N FWRY & GF Grand PKWY stores are open for those in need. If you can safely join us, we invite you for shelter and food. God Bless,” solidifying him as a Houstonian with a heart of gold.

Chron.com says that people are welcome to take refuge at the stores where they can relax on the comfy couches, refuel, and allow their minds and bodies to rest despite all of the stress they’re enduring due to the awful storm.

They further write that the Gallery Furniture locations are “stocked with food, water, and mattresses. Each store can accommodate a few hundred people comfortably.” Additionally, family pets can come along, too. The stores put out a call for kennels to keep pets safe within these expansive stores.

Taking their efforts even further, Gallery Furniture wrote on their Facebook page that they sent a driver with “the biggest truck we have” to pick up Houstonians in need. Gallery Furniture really does more than “Save You Money!”
