George Strait Brings Son Onstage for One Last Duet [WATCH]

There was an incredible amount of memorable moments during George Strait’s The Cowboy Rides Away Tour in 2014. The string of 48 sold-out shows marked the last tour for the country superstar, who had been performing since 1975. The show’s set list represented all phases of his music career, from his earliest hits to tracks from his 2013 release, Love Is Everything. One of the most special moments of the entire tour came during his final show at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

About an hour after the performance began, Strait brought his son, Bubba, onto the stage to join him for a song. Bubba Strait is a talented songwriter in his own right and his father acknowledged his own gifts as an artist by choosing to sing a song penned by his son.

The two, both clad in plaid shirts, hats and worn-in jeans, performed “Arkansas Dave” as they stood side by side, almost a mirrored image of each other. It was a heartwarming moment that showed just how much talent lies within the Strait family and how Bubba will continue his father’s musical legacy in his own original way.

The touching moment was recorded live for The Cowboy Rides Away: Live from AT&T Stadium, which was previously aired on CMT in 2014. Fans can still buy their own copy of the concert on DVD or CD form in stores or online.
