Other choices for lodging are Dofflemyer Hotel, which is a boutique style inn, located in downtown San Saba. Aunt M’s Illustrated Inn also located in town is a cozy, luxurious, bed and breakfast.

While you’re in San Saba, be sure and check out the 400-year-old Wedding Oak tree, which has been the site of numerous nuptials, beginning with the Native Americans and early settlers. Check out the Beveridge Bridge, which is a wooden, suspension bridge built in 1896, that is just up the road from the Wedding Oak tree.

There are several, beautiful parks in the area, but Mill Pond Park with its beautiful waterfall, water wheel, and Harmony Ridge Bridge is a must see.

If you’re a golfer, San Saba River golf Course is rumored to be one of the best in the Hill Country.

You can’t leave the “ pecan capital of the world” without checking out the Great San Saba River Pecan Company where yummy treats await. Grab a piece of homemade pecan pie, go sit out on the porch, and enjoy the view of one of the many pecan orchards that make this town famous.
