On a Virgin plane from Boston to San Francisco on Monday night, a father figured out a way to make sure his 3-year-old daughter could still trick-or-treat even though they’d be around 30,000 feet in the air on Halloween night.

KTVU quoted the note the dad (who wants to modestly remain anonymous) printed out to hand to the other passengers along with a piece of candy:

“My 3-year-old daughter, Molly, was bummed that she wouldn’t be able to go trick-or-treating this year due to this flight… so I decided to bring trick-or-treating to her. If you are willing, when my little donut comes down the aisle, please drop this in her basket.  You’ll be making her Halloween!  If you’re unwilling, no worries, just pass the treat back to me.  Thanks so much!”

The sweet plan was appreciated by fellow flyers. “OMG, my heart is exploding right now. Dad of the year just passed out candy to everyone on the flight so his 3 year old could trick or treat,” Stephanie Kahan tweeted along with photos of the note and little girl making her way down the aisle.

It was a winning situation for everyone involved. A dad made a wonderful memory for his daughter, passengers had something to talk about when asked how their flight was, and Kahan now has a viral tweet under her belt. “I finally know how @KimKardashian feels when she shares a photo of her salad,” she wrote.
