Their colorful labels denote the wineries laid back atmosphere and reflect their friendly Texas vibe. With wine names such as Back Porch Sittin’, Home Sweet Home, and Country Road, you can bet there is a little piece of Texas Hill Country heart and soul poured into each bottle. This winery has something for everyone whether you’re a sweet wine drinker or prefer a dryer vintage. For sweet wines, try the Savannah Rose. For a drier vintage, check out Country Road. But, don’t forget to try our very own labeled “Texas Hill Country” wine for a special treat. Fiesta Winery, 6260 U.S. Highway East 290, Fredericksburg; Phone: 830-997-4466.

No girl trip is complete without a visit to a good clothing store and Magnolia Pearl off of Highway 290 just a few miles outside of Fredericksburg isn’t so much a clothing store as it is an exploration of an artist’s studio. The store is a work of art itself made of reclaimed wood brought in from all over the country and chock full of antiques.
Each piece of clothing is individually handcrafted and made from the highest quality material including both new and vintage fabrics. Picture lace and eyelet and wrinkled soft cotton. Prepare to be transported back in time a century or two while browsing the blowsy blouses, faded t-shirts, roomy dresses, and baggy pants that adorn hanging racks and shelves.

These pieces are perfect for lounging with a good book on a porch swing with a glass of lemonade or wading in the creek on a hot summer’s day. It’s like shopping in your grandmother’s attic, but so much better. And just like every friendly farmhouse, a happy pup waits to greet you and bring you his favorite toy.
