Little Girl Writes Heartbreaking Note When Family Surrenders Their Dog
Last week, Rhino, a 3-year-old dog, was brought into the Utah Humane Society when the family who adopted him decided they needed to return him to the shelter due to his size.
A little girl in the family was heartbroken to see her dog go. She penned a 15-page note she asked the Humane Society to give to the next owner. You may want to grab a tissue before reading the short excerpt Fox 29 transcribed that said, “He was my puppy. I really hope he is in a good environment. I really miss him. I wish he knew that he was a pretty puppy.”
Shortly after news stations picked up the story, Rhino was put on hold for a new family. Unfortunately, they never showed up at the shelter to pick him up. The next family to take Rhino in also returned the pup due to his rambunctiousness.
The Utah Humane Society wrote on their Facebook page that if Rhino was no longer listed on their website, that means he has been taken into another new home. He doesn’t appear to be listed here at this time, so cross your fingers that he’s found a new, loving forever home!
